TarraWarra Estate Chardonnay, Yarra Valley 2014
Mushy figs, creamy nut butter richness, held in check with tension, like the wine is waiting to exhale. Yellowstone fruit provides the release. Crunchy acid just cuts through biscuity lees and lemon cream. Grapefruit and fig work together to round out the fruit flavours. A very good wine, but I can’t help but want a little more pure fruit driving through.
