Katnook Estate Shiraz 2012

The 2012 vintage in Coonawarra experienced “above average temperatures and below average rainfall” and “harvest was amongst the earliest starts on record. ” Hasn’t stopped the Katnook team putting together quality wines.

Katnook Estate, Shiraz, Coonawarra, 2012

15 months in a combination of French and American 2 year old oak Barrels. Brown spice, clove and plum overlay with white pepper and a hint of vanilla pod. Elegant Shiraz palate: plum and dark choc nibs. Plenty of that white pepper dusting across a somewhat-old fashioned oak treatment. Tannins are firm, persistent. Finishes off with a savoury dark measure for balance. Very good expression without resorting to overt oak or tricked up fruit.

RRP: $40

Alc: 13.5%
