Risky Business head south in Western Australia to grab Pinot Noir fruit from Mount Barker (though the wine is labelled Western Australia). Vigneron is Rob Quenby.
Risky Business, Pinot Noir Rosé, Mount Barker, 2016
Not as bright as the bottle shot would have you think, somewhere near terracotta and trout. Slightly meaty nose with strawberry and blossom, gravel, old rose petals. Steely palate with ironstone before light cherry/red currant and creamy proteins. Finishes bone dry with a smoky note and just the right amount of acidity. Well put together and made perfectly for food.
