De Bortoli, La Bossa, Merlot, Riverina, 2016
Plenty of guts on the nose: dark cherry, pan juice, a little amount of blood, sweet vanilla and oak. Starting off with round flavours of dark medicinal cherry and sweet oak start before rough tannins take it away. Fruit finishes a little short and hot. Would be fine with salumi pizza with a tomato sauce base.
