T’was a cool wintry Hobart evening and I was craving a comforting glass of red. This Claymore Wines ticked the box perfectly.
Claymore Wines, London Calling, Cabernet, Malbec, Clare Valley, 2016
Giving and friendly nose with cassis, brambles, mulberry and wooden pencil shaft. The ripe palate similar to the nose with a little choc ganache for extra richness. Starts a little slippery before fine/supple tannins, juicy acidity and finishes with an earthy savoury lilt of medium length. No need for any ageing, just grab your favourite one pot dish and pour generously.
