Longview, KÜHL, Grüner Veltliner, Adelaide Hills, 2017
KÜHL this release has jumped the stated alcohol up, making the nose far more fruit driven than the 2016, but no less exciting. Still with spicy pepper, fennel and earthy green leaves supporting pears, grapefruit skin and white florals, it appears intense and serious. A little palate weight with white minerally rocks, yet expressive pure fruit that simply just is. The finish is tight, linear and pin point focused. It offers no pretense, this is wine already comfortable in its own skin. A flagship Grüner from the Adelaide Hills.
