The price hasn’t changed from the 2014 edition. Toolangi estate fruit picked from Dixon’s Creek in the upper Yarra, then made at Yering Station. 10 months in 30% new French Oak. Note, the bottle shot below is of the 2014 vintage, but naught has changed apart from the year.
Toolangi, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2016
Peach, mandarin, flint and mealy aromas with a soft, round approachable creamy demeanor, which is all the more amazing for the wine saw no malolactic fermentation. Definitely in the richer end of the chardonnay spectrum with ripe yellow stonefruit and mandarin citrus spread thickly across a quartzy linear strut. Lingering yeasty savoury flavours bring it back to heel, still with a clip of fine acidity. A solid release from a fast, warm vintage.
