Cabernet is oft-overlooked in McLaren Vale for regional star Grenache. But when done well, it can very delicious indeed.
Chapel Hill, The Parson, Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale, 2016
Bright purple edges, with good legs in the glass. Sweaty red fruit, port royal damp tobacco, chocolatey oak, bosyenberry smoke and spearmint. Whole the fruit seems sweet in the nose, the palate delivers a driveway of gravel and stones. Feels solid, has presence and with cheeky purple fruit smile. Good oak, good fruit, good winemaking.
