Hard to believe there was only 89 tonnes of Vermentino crushed in the Barossa zone in 2017, but with a price rise of 4%, the future is rosy. Or golden. You know what I mean.
Yelland & Papps, Vermentino, Barossa Valley, 2017
Sourced from the Kalleske vineyard. Fragrant ginger snaps, lemon drops, salted popcorn kernels and gunshot sulfides. Lovely juxtaposition on the palate with lemon cheesecake and honeyed nuts sliced by the natural acidity and briny lilt. Lingering baking spices drift across the fine texture. Fresh, bright and delicious.
