Taltarni, Fumé Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pyrenees, Coal River Valley, 2016
Pepper, spice, fresh earth, a touch of vegetal/varietal asparagus, passionfruit skin, rockmelon, grapefruit and plenty of (white) peach stonefruit. Gutsy, savoury, complex style with potent rocket/aragula like leafyness and peppery spice underscoring the melon, grapefruit, peach fruit lines and pinned into place with high acidity. The barrel work rounds out the edges. A very good example of the style.
