Risky Business Shiraz Grenache Tempranillo 2016

Put together by Rob Quenby as viticulturist and his partner in the “risky business,” John Waldron as vintner. Really, the only thing risky about the enterprise is the name. The wines are consistently sound and excellent value for money. This blend has fruit sourced from the Jindawarra & Happs vineyards in Margaret River.

Risky Business, Shiraz, Grenache, Tempranillo, Margaret River, 2016

Approachable, cuddly aromas of blueberry, plum fruit with bittersweet licorice. Spiced by green and black peppercorns with touches of brown spice and incense perfume. The oak is slightly sweet and provides a light vanilla note. Purple and black fruit drive the medium-full bodied palate complemented by sweet licorice and savoury coffee tones. The finish is medium in length only and the soft tannins plentiful yet slightly bitter. A solid Wednesday wine.
