The 2nd release of this wine. VISTA is the acronym for Varied Inclines Slopes Terrain & Aspects. And of course, vista is the Italian word for “view.” Good to see the Saturno family honouring the heritage again for one of the ragazzi in their home.
Longview Vineyard, VISTA, Shiraz, Barbera, Adelaide Hills, 2017
Gives off lifted purple and red fruits: a little black jelly bean and raspberry jube. Some crushed violets and garden herb intrigue and a little meaty jus. Immediately appealing upon the tongue: Slurpable, silky, satiny before fruit derived kitten’s lick tannins* before earthy, peppery spice and herbed black cherry. The youth provides a minerally spine and the bright acidity clip at the finish to make this super food food friendly. Leave the bottle please. Points for drinkability.
