From talented winemaker Rob Diletti, in the sub-region of Porongurup in the Great Southern GI of Western Australia. Vineyard planted by Rob’s parents in 1983, with riesling one of the original varieties. Plenty of bling in the trophy cabinet too.
Castle Rock Estate, Riesling, Porongurup, 2018
Near water-clear in the glass. Subtle, delicate aromas with minerally white rocks and soft white blossoms, An exquisitely textured palate that shows precision at all times. The fruit that does show now is light citrus with a crisp, juicy green apple acid profile. The tail trails long with persistence and balance in lock step. Utterly delicious.
