Chapel Hill The Parson GSM 2017

McLaren Vale’s regional star blend Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre.

Chapel Hill, The Parson, Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, McLaren Vale, 2017

Musk sticks and raspberry jubes fight for dominance, like a take home party bag from a kids party (parents: does that even happen any more?) with base notes of earthy gravel and graphite and finishing back with dark, crushed rose petals. Good texture: enough grip to give a serious note to the otherwise up front silky, satiny mouth feel. Bright fruit with a smile and a little kick of saltiness for balance.

RRP: $18
Alc: 14%
Rating: 16.5/20

  1. What happened to The Parson Pinot Grigio? It’s disappeared from all your publicity. Was it a dud, or have you simply sold out?

    • Hi John. I have no commercial affiliation with Chapel Hill and can’t comment on their release choices. It may be best contact them to find out the answer to your question.
