Coming into 5 years old and starting to hit its straps. Note: Bottle image is of 2013, but nothing has changed save the vintage year.
Huntington Estate, Shiraz, Mudgee, 2014
Still a good garnet colour in the glass. Gives you everything you need from a earthy shiraz: All the plums and dark cooking chocolate carrying that dusty edge. A touch of meaty charcuterie and campfire roasted beets. Time has done good things: infamous Mudgee tannins have been softened and while definitely present, give the right amount of chew. Black plum and mulberry with smoky, crisp meats and help from chary, sweet oak for balance. Manages to stay somewhat light on its feet.
