The low slung shoulder of the Rhone bottle now suits the approach for the winemaking.
West Cape Howe, Two Steps, Shiraz, Mount Barker, 2016
16 Months French oak. Earthy Turkish coffee ground aromas underneath milk choc plums, fresh tobacco and hint of wet paint. A smooth medium-full palate: slick with syrupy purple berry juice and sprinkle of peppery spice. The acidity has a citrus juice tang: a little sharp and jangly while the tannins leave a pleasant grip and clucking of the tongue. Executes its play well.
