A blend of Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), Jansz have cleverly marketed “Méthode Tasmanoise” as their house style. Coming under the greater Hill Smith family vineyard umbrella, the winemaker is Teresa Heuzenroeder.
Jansz Tasmania, Vintage Cuvée, Pipers River, 2015
Rich brioche, roast coffee, red currant with vanilla crème, lemon pie, white chocolate, wheatgerm and light umami oyster shell brine. Fine bead and mousse. Depth of flavour with nougat over lemony citrus and red currant. Muscular and tightly bound finishing with trademark Tassie mouth watering acidity. A benchmark still showing youthfully.
