Hoddles Creek Estate, Wickhams Road, Pinot Noir, Gippsland, 2020
A touch of reduction before a herbal edge of mint and green thyme leaves. Plusher red fruits and dusty strawberry with hints of bubblegum-carbonic maceration before paper smoke and plum/BBQ sauce. Presents a fleshy palate but retaining subtlety and pinosity, with good juicy acidity to provide lift and flourish. In a similar vein to the other Wickham’s releases, this carries a slight soapy/waxy feel to the finish. Still, a good wine.
