Taylors have their home in the Clare, but source fruit from important locations to complete their portfolio..
Taylors, Estate, Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills, 2019
Plenty of fleshy cherry with smoked cola and a fistful of crushed thyme leaves. Deep raspberry, tea-smoked duck meatiness and a little lipstick waxiness over cinnamon and vanilla essence. Full and slick, lacking palate depth while the tannins are subservient and acquiescent. Plenty of red fruit flavour and some vanilla dark char, yet just missing elegance and “pinosity.” Potentially a gateway wine to intrigue people enough to experiment a little.
