The Double Barrel range has grown and this label is a relatively new addition. No mention of where the fruit is sourced from. Matured in “traditional” wine oak, then “finished” in Scotch Whiskey barrels.
Double Barrel, Shiraz/Cabernet, SEA, 2019
Moist pouch tobacco, blackberry, plum, vanilla bean jam, young gum leaves, bay leaves and fresh turned peaty earth. The fruit profile potentially emboldened by the whisky barrels, with plenty of dark berry and Cabernet influence tree leaves, leaving a fine spread of grainy tannin blanketed with warmth through the finish. Big and bold.
