Allegiance Wine have their home in Chardonnay country of Tumbarumba, NSW, but look further afield to quality regions. Here is one of their flagship Cabernet Sauvignons from the Barossa. Sourced from a single vineyard of ancestor vines (~125 years old) at Lyndoch in the southern heart of the Barossa.
Allegiance Wines, Unity, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley, 2019
Vanilla and cola tinged oak push with blueberry, blackberry, spearmint, ash and kitchen herbs. Plush and opulent palate counterpointed by elegant, tight, fine velvety Barossa tannins. Chary and sweet oak still so prominent over the ripe fruit profile. Medium full length. The fruit quality is there, I’d love to see the oak dialed down.
