St Hubert’s take fruit from the Valley floor here. Spends 9 months in French oak. Winemaker is Greg Jarrett who makes no apologies for the big style.
St Hubert’s, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2021
Old school Chardonnay. Dusty, mealy characters and blonde oak treatment. Big lemon and curd aromas with pineapple juice, stone fruit skin and nougat balance. Savoury and serious palate. Very good balance of winemaking artifice and the fruit that can handle it. Crystalline acidity provides drive.
