An (almost) straight bottling of the Cabernet Franc (9% Shiraz for spice and seasoning), which only comes in the right years. Fruit comes from the close spaced Crayères Vineyard (1.5m by 1.5m) on the 37 million year old Terra Rossa ridge in Wrattonbully. Maturation in old French oak barrels and foudre.
Terre à Terre, Crayères Vineyard, Cabernet Franc, Wrattonbully, 2021

Medium garnet hue with a ruby edge. Dusty violets, wine gums, earthy root veg, gun flint, white pepper nuance, brambly cassis and baked tea cake. Medium framed with dusty drying tannins that the Shiraz addition only just manages to flesh out. Clacking and structured with puckering intensity and focus. Bright drive through the impressive tannin layers. Long, long finish. Have no fear of cellaring this for 15+ years.
