From the single, close planted Sinapius vineyard in Pipers River. With 7,700 – 9,615 vines per hectare and planted to 9 different Chardonnay clones, Sinapius harvest less than 1kg per vine. The Sinapius story is worth understanding. You can read about Linda and Vaughn’s story here.
Sinapius, Close Planted Chardonnay, Pipers River, Tasmania, 2023
Pale hue with a green highlight. Cream and green melon, white stone fruit before lemon butter, white flowers, macadamia paste, soft dough, frozen green grapes with touches of sea spray and briny oyster shell. Intensity and focus: The green edged fruit underscored and framed with exceptional vibrant acidity. It screams (but not shrieks) life. The texture holds a chalky, viscous line to give body and base. A wonderfully alive and exquisite wine.
