One of a pair of Shiraz from Flametree, the other being the Frankland River.
Flametree, Shiraz, Margaret River, 2015
Aged in old French oak. Bright mulberry purple in the glass. Fruity aromas with plenty of blood plum, blueberry, blackberry, baking spices, mocha and baked corn chips (good ones, not those rubbish “Doritos”). Fun, drinking palate, medium bodied. Plentiful layers of plum, blue and black fruit with white pepper overtones. Weave of soft mesh/net like sandy tannins coat the mouth. Don’t worry about cellaring this, enjoy the upfront ease of it.
RRP: $27
Alc: 14%
