La Bise Wines Le Petite Frais Rosé 2016

Le Petite Frais roughly translates as The Small Fresh One. A blend of Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Pinot Gris. The back label mentions the dry nature of the wine (lack of residual sugar) and claims some health benefits because of it. Not sure these sorts of health claims belong on labels….

La Bise Wines, Le Petite Frais, Rosé, Adelaide Hills, 2016

Light cerise. Toasty nose with light red currant, strawberry and just setting red jelly aromas. Easy and fresh palate dripping with red fruits and punctuated with some surprising acidity. It’s a bright style but not confected. The subtlety of the Pinot Gris is a pleasing touch with a distinct floral and pear lift. Clever little wine indeed.

RRP: $22
