Angullong Fossil Hill Barbera 2015

The label on the Fossil Hill range from Angullong used to have a quaint little sea shell fossil as the as a background image, showcasing the early forms of life that existed when nearby Mount Canobolas was under the sea a few moons ago (about 450 million years). New livery now with a very small typeset wording explanation of the nomenclature on the front and a bit more on the back.

Angullong, Fossil Hill, Barbera, Orange, 2015

Oozes with cherries and dark raspberries before smoky oak rises. Twiggy and leafy earthy nuances meld with vanilla bean and shiny youthful polish. Vibrant dark cherry and blackberry fruit with a firm, but not overwhelming tannic grip. There’s a little sweetness that adds to the charm and fun of the wine. Barbera in its native Italy is known as a wine of the people, so this is definitely best served in company.

RRP: $26
Alc: 14.5%
