Riddoch, Merlot, Coonawarra, 2015

The embossed mustache on the visage of ol’ John Riddoch (founder of the Coonawarra region) is pretty impressive: He would definitely be straining his soup with it. Baked prune, blackcurrant, high spirit aromas, light chocolate and some hazelnut: All in all, some blunt aromas. The body is slight  with bitter prunes, dark chocolate, sour tannins and a hot, somewhat salty finish.  Better examples around, even at the price.
