The 2nd release of this wine from TarraWarra and from an excellent vintage. The fruit sourced from vines grafted previously over onto 24 year old rootstock. The evocative label a representation of Thornton Walker‘s “Composition with 2 Trees.” The informative label bears his signature with a short biography.
TarraWarra Estate, Nebbiolo, Yarra Valley, 2015
Light garnet with a clear heart, playing possum to the structure to come. If the first release gave the perfume from Salome during her dance, This offers slightly more visceral experience, with dark cherry, rose petals, raspberry and delicious black licorice herbal element. Texture like shovel-loads of fine bluestone gravel coat the tongue. Intensity without opulence, this is a sleeper.
