Leasingham, Classic Clare, Shiraz, Clare Valley, 2015
Still an inky dark colour with an almost black heart. Profound perfume: redolent of quality dark chocolate, hints of licorice, bitumen, blackcurrant and rich plum sauce. Vanilla and chocolate hints cushioning herb edged savoury dark fruits, while the tannins are gentle and sandpaper like; their fine quality shaping the long length. The talented winemaking, balancing drinkability with long-term cellaring potential is on show from the outset.
