Glenguin Estate Schoolhouse Block Shiraz 2013

From a single block of shiraz vines, descended from the original Busby cuttings. From the north west Broke Fordwich sub region of the Hunter Valley, with Robin Tedder MW as vigneron.

Glenguin Estate, Schoolhouse Block, Shiraz, Hunter Valley, 2013

Opens like a sweet milky, red raspberry fruited spiced chai underpinned by juicy baked meats and dusty old leather. Bright, almost grenache like raspberry front, with a solid base of just dusty tannins under a perfumed, almost blossom floral profile. Herbaceous licks abound with a muttered-under-the-breath salinity. Plenty of lively acidity still jumping all over the place. At 6 years old, it should be settling down, but no, here we have a Man-child of a wine with a fine future ahead.
