Labelled as Frizzante Rosa…sparkling rosé. This is the Pizzini’s Moscato and weighs in at 6% alcohol and labelled Brachetto, honouring the lightly sparkling Italian dessert wines Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG that can be surprisingly tasty.
Pizzini, Brachetto, King Valley, 2018
Cranberry and bath powders with light fairy floss, pink apple and ginger ale notes. Lightly spritzy, the palate flavours run to that of the nose, even with a touch of refreshing ginger. It doesn’t hit the sickly sweet sugar spectrum, relying upon fruit and the acidity slices it all away. Fun and best served with dessert where it can cut through richness.
