From wine family royalty: Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser. The 35 million year old soil vineyard, located next to the lauded Tapanappa Whalebone vineyard.
Terre à Terre, Crayères Vineyard, Shiraz, Wrattonbully, 2016
Opens with a minerally steely spine with an air of authority. Intense satsuma plum and blackberry, impeccably judged chocolately oak with easy char. Medium to full bodied. Nothing but presence from start to end. The tannins are fine, chalky and even. Understated, elegant, fine. Under-priced.
RRP: $40
