Sent with its already released 2015 sibling. I do like the detail on the labels for these Single Vineyard wines, including the latitude and longitude coordinates of the vineyard, just out of the McLaren Flat township.
Shottesbrooke, Single Vineyard Series, Bush Vine, Grenache, McLaren Vale, 2016
Potent and fragrant nose: Deep choc berry with rubber/eraser, a salty roast chicken meatiness, cabbage rose and quince. Medium to full bodied. A wine of contrasts: complex layers of savoury “minerality” working as the left hand to a right hand of tight, restrained fruit. That fruit equates to obvious quality McLaren dark raspberry with bitter choc edge. The tannins a low sandy rumble. Finishing focused and ramrod straight with the savoury elements having the last word.
