Another year, another quality release from Franco and the team at Hoddles Creek. Fruit is sourced from Lone Star in the Upper Yarra alongside that from Hoddles Creek Estate. Bottle image is of 2015, but only the vintage date has changed on the label.
Hoddles Creek Estate, Wickhams Road, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2019
A pleasing deep ruby/purple in the glass. Fine aromas of cherries in their juice, a little fresh oregano herb, orange rind and a touch of steely tautness. Medium bodied. Silky on the palate, brightly juicy with plenty of slippery flesh. Just enough fine tannin to give a high-five on the way past to the lingering rose petals and chocolate. Tops. No Brainer.
