Di Giorgio Family Wines, Emporio, Coonawarra, 2016
Plum and mulberry, with dusty purple flowers, black currant with hints of rustic savoury tar, earth, fallen eucalypt and olive. There’s some chary cedary oak with a hint of meatiness. Slick with mixed berry coulis over bitter cooking choc and a creamy mid palate. The tannins are square, slightly chewy and plonk themselves down steadily before drawing tight. Leaves a waxy lip smacking feeling and a meaty savoury edge with leafy edge.
