This Nero D’Avola comes from Sicily and is made using the “appassimento” method whereby some of the grapes are partially dried before vinification. The result gives an extra kick of intensity and structure. Under DIAM cork.
Colpasso, Nero D’Avola, D.O.C, Sicily, 2018
Rich and generous aromas of blackberry, blood plum, roast walnut, fresh leather, deep caramel with a concentration of “Rum ‘n Raisin” chocolate and wisps of drying herbs. The palate equally as generous as it is smooth with the aforementioned fruits in abundance. There’s still bright acidity and very fine tannin, while a tickle of heat is not unnoticed. A good import at a keen price.
