Marnong Estate Sangiovese 2025

Alex Beckett, winemaker has his grapes spend 11 days on skins, then pressed direct to cask (2,500 L cask and 228 L barriques) and matured on lees for 8 months prior to blending.

Deep violet to bruise purple. Leafy, kitchen herbs, cherries, plums, raspberry and bay leaf. A little meaty depth and chocolate/malt oak. Mid to full: fleshy red fruit with tobacco edged spice and long tail.  Tannins are pervasive and made for food: any pasta with a tomato based sauce or lamb chops or steaks.
