Maretti Chianti 2018

From fruit grown in the Chianti Rufina and satisfying the rules for DOCG classification. Winemaker is Danilo Drocco.

Maretti, Sangiovese, Chianti, 2018

Black olive, bittersweet black cherry fruit with herbal anise/black jelly beans and a touch of cola before a sweaty, meaty edge. The svelte and modern palate gives a full bodied experience, if somewhat a little smooth and potentially tempered for Australian tastes, it does maintain that distinct herbal savoury presence and quite fine tannin structure. Fantastic with a tomato based pasta.

RRP: $24
