Sam and Jock Auld are the 6th generation of a family who have been intertwined in the Australian wine fabric since the mid 1800’s. While they’re firmly rooted in the Barossa, here they reach to perennially undervalued Langhorne Creek, closer to the water.
Auld Family Wines, Strawbridge, Cabernet Sauvignon, Langhorne Creek, 2016
Aromatic and expressive aromas of blackcurrant and cassis, black olive, mulberry conserve with fine crushed young eucalytpus and dark chocolate. Concentrated and focused medium bodied palate showing restraint over the black fruit with tongue numbing menthol qualities. Tannins have an elegant natural, unforced feel as the finish fans out expressively.
