Auld Family Wines, Strawbridge, Shiraz, Barossa, 2017

Smoky char over the rich nose with blackberry, spiced plums in their juice, bittersweet dark chocolate, shiny black olive, oodles of brown nutmeg and 5-spice with sweet vanilla hints. The palate is sumptuous, with supportive firm tannins that lay a solid foundation for quality dark fruit and spice. Balanced and the fruit remains fresh regardless of the high alcohol percentage. A quality release.
