Brokenwood have released this wine, a blend of two of their prized parcels from the fuller 2014 vintage. The Trevena Vineyard was planted in 1920, while the Kindred is closer to 40 years old.
Brokenwood, Trevena Kindred Vineyards, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2014
6 Years old and remains bright in the glass with appealing youthful green highlights. Still developing nose with hints of lemon lime sweet waxiness, smashed lemongrass stalk and sorbet cool over richer new peas/leafy bok choy. Dancing lime freshness, poise underscored by depth and upfront richness that will continue to enhance the complexity as the wine matures. Finishing with a calm, earthy seriousness that is appealing for its restraint.
