Glenguin Estate, Schoolhouse Block, Shiraz, Hunter Valley, 2018
Powerful and forthright. A heady mix of cedary oak with a dusty Hunter Valley signature, blood, dark chocolate, dried fig, blackberry, clove and ground pepper. Intense and powerfully youthful on the palate with layered depths of black fruit well balanced against the frame of good oak. Long, long finish of flavour. The tannins drying, firm and ready to stand their ground for a few more laps around the Sun.
