West Cape Howe, Book Ends, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Barker, 2017

Deep garnet in colour. Varietal yet understated blackberry and blackcurrant fruit with cigar tobacco, crushed bay leaf, cocoa powder and cedary oak. Medium-full bodied and gripping. Uber-primary with shiny black fruit, an earthy base and whisper of mint. Has a structure that begs for more time before finishing development.
