Part of “The Metal” range from Berton Vineyards and apparently becoming their biggest seller. Has a bit of bling from some renowned award ceremonies. Sourced from “‘South Eastern Australia” fruit sources.
Berton Vineyards, The Black, Shiraz, SEA, 2019
Goodness, there’s a lot here for the price. Chalk and rose petal, blue metal, vanilla, light marshmallow, blueberry, blue plum, cola essence (touch of ginger) and some crunchy thin chocolate. Varietal and dark with reams of mocha and a light sandpaper tannin that clings to the teeth, just to keep it interesting. The finish is a touch short but stays balanced all the way. Great value.
