A blend 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon from the last vintage in a run of three great years. This is more Iggy Pop than JO’K.
Dirt Candy Wine, The Wild One, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Hunter Valley, 2019
Spicy and earthy. Offering the best of both worlds: Blood plum, crinkled leather, mulberry, smoky crisp bacon bits, crushed bay leaf and a little sweet cedary oak, even if there’s a touch of rusticity. Palate is medium bodied and flush with astrigent tannin. The fruit that does manage to rise above is quality: dark and earthy. One for the tannin fiends and spot on for rib eye steak.
