Burton McMahon is a joint venture by Dylan McMahon of Seville Estate in the Yarra Valley and Matt Burton of Gundog Estate (Hunter Valley and Canberra). The D’Aloisio vineyard is located in the township of Seville.
As per its sibling, the George’s Vineyard, the fruit is hand picked and the wine naturally fermented. Maturation in French oak (30% new) for 10 months. Bottle image is of 2018, but nought else is different.

Burton McMahon, D’Aloisio’s Vineyard, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2019

Oven warm bread crust. Exotic fig and citrus in a generous frame with flinty sulphides. More forward than its sibling, with rich grapefruit citrus depth and lemon biscuit. The acidity focus is still spot on and gives a honed, driving finish.

RRP: $40
Alc: 13%
Rating: 18.5/20 (93/100)
