Burton McMahon George’s Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

This is one of the 2 Pinots that Matt Burton (Gundog Estate, Hunter Valley) and Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate, Yarra Valley) make under their Burton McMahon label. The bottle image is of 2018, but nought else has changed.

Burton McMahon, George’s Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2019

Dark garnet in colour. Warm, smoky, chary notes\ with black cherry, fallen leaves, bacon bits, rose petals, choc/vanilla oak tinge and torn orange rind. Svelte texture, with black cherry and bitter dark choc depth over earthy, savoury/earthy qualities with a tightly packed tail. A serious expression of Pinot Noir.

RRP: $40
Alc: 13.5%
Rating: 18.25/20 (92/100)
