Burton McMahon Syme On Yarra Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Syme on Yarra Vineyard is grown on the red volcanic soils of Seville and planted to the MV6 clone.  Burton McMahon is the duo of Matt Burton (Gundog Estate, Hunter Valley) and Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate, Yarra Valley). Note, bottle image is of 2018 but nought else has changed.

Burton McMahon, Syme On Yarra Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2019

Warm spice with crunchy, slightly smoky bacon influences over  perfumed cherry, orange oil and classy oak with distinct woodiness. There’s some meaty reduction that blows off. Medium full with smoky, earthy depth. The tannins are finely knit: small knots, little rumbles that tie up the savoury flesh. Layered, almost soupy complexity carrying a brightness through the tail to provide a lift. Medium term cellaring prospect.

RRP: $40
