Shingleback Davey Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

No longer labelled the Reserve, but still with the indication of being harvested from a single vineyard. French oak maturation for around 15 months in 1 year to 6 year old barrels.

Shingleback, Davey Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale, 2018

Plump blackberry with shiny olive, earthy bay leaf, meaty pan jus, eucalypt blossom, coffee essence and a little reductive flintiness.
Generous, yet retaining an elegance through the medium body, with breakfast elements of fresh berries, coffee and cocoa with a citrus juice like acidity. Fruit quality is obvious while the tannins are a touch tacky, but I’m nitpicking.

RRP: $25
Alc: 14%
Rating: 17.75/20 (91/100)
